The project
Goal
With this project, we want to motivate pre-retirees and retirees to exercise in order to counteract the rampant obesity, which will not only improve public health but also reduce costs for the general public, especially for health insurance companies.
Science
The findings from research and science show that competitive sport after 60 has numerous benefits for physical and mental health.
Regular intensive training improves cardiovascular health (heart and vascular system), maintains muscle mass and supports bone health. Weight management, increased energy and a higher quality of life are further positive effects. Sport helps to reduce stress, promotes social interaction, strengthens immune function and can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and cognitive impairment. In addition, success in sport increases self-confidence and contributes to a positive psychological well-being.
